Ark Encounter
Ark Encounter is a Christian young Earth creationist (YEC) theme park that opened in Williamstown, Kentucky in 2016. The centerpiece of the park is a full-size replica of Noah's Ark, based on the Genesis flood narrative contained in the Bible. It is 510 feet (155.4 m) long, 85 feet (25.9 m) wide, and 51 feet (15.5 m) high.
The ark is held 15 feet (4.6 m) off the ground by a series of concrete towers. The starboard side of the hull merges into three 80-foot (24 m) masonry towers containing stairwells, elevators, and restrooms.
Besides the Ark Encounter itself, there are other attractions within the theme park, including Emzara's Kitchen, a two-story, buffet-style restaurant with a capacity of 1,500 guests, making it one of the largest restaurants in the world. Also featured are ziplining, a virtual reality theater, and the Ararat Ridge zoo, which features a petting zoo and a variety of wild animals such as kangaroos and camels.
Williamstown, Kentucky, is halfway between Cincinnati and Lexington.
Creation Museum
Creation Museum located in Petersburg, Kentucky is a museum that promotes the pseudoscientific young Earth creationist (YEC) explanation of the origin of the universe and life on Earth based on a literal interpretation of the Genesis creation narrative of the Bible. It is operated by the Christian creation apologetics organization Answers in Genesis (AiG).
The state-of-the-art museum allows you to venture through biblical history, stunning exhibits, botanical gardens, planetarium, zoo, zip line adventure course, and much more. This 75,000-square-foot facility has welcomed millions of guests since opening in 2007.
Reflecting young-Earth creationist beliefs, the museum depicts humans and dinosaurs coexisting, portrays the Earth as approximately 6,000 years old, and disputes the theory of evolution.
